Losing the Internet July 9 ?

From A. Warren, Global Rumblings Key West, Correspondent:

This is for real. World-wide, all computers infected with DNS malware will be shut-down no later than July 9th, per the FBI.

Fox News ran this story May 25th, with instructions on how to detect if yours is infected and how to fix it if you are. After July 9th, all infected computers- well you might as well toss them. Here's the story and here's the shortcut to the detect page: http://www.dcwg.org/detect/

Google warns hundreds of thousands may lose Internet in July
www.foxnews.com

Google plans to warn more than half a million users of a computer infection that may knock their computers off the Internet this summer.

The FBI is seeking information from individuals, corporate entities, and Internet Services Providers who believe that they have been victimized by malicious software (“malware”) related to the defendants. This malware modifies a computer’s Domain Name Service (DNS) settings and thereby directs the computers to receive potentially improper results from rogue DNS servers hosted by the defendants.

VIOLENT LAND HURRICANE HITS EAST COAST: “Catastrophic” power loss for 3 million+ may not be restored for days.

Posted: June 30, 2012 Joel C. Rosenberg

A massive land hurricane known as a “derecho” pounded the Mid-Atlantic region of the East Coast last night with winds of up to 91 mph, downing trees, knocking out power for more than 3.4 millions Americans and killing at least 10 people. Some utility companies are calling the power outages “catastrophic” and say it will take days to bring the power back online. “Last night’s thunderstorms caused the broadest non-hurricane related power outage in Virginia history,” CNN reported Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell saying. “This is not a one-day situation; it is a multi-day challenge,” he said.

Virginia, West Virginia and Ohio have declared states of emergency. Especially hard hit will be the poor, the elderly, the infirm and shut-ins as many will have no air conditioning or fans despite record high temperatures over 100 degrees Fahrenheit, no refrigeration, no Internet service, lights, and sporadic, spotty mobile phone coverage. We got hit in the Washington, D.C. area around 10:30pm last night and we’re just turning on the Weather Channel to find out what was happening when everything shut down.

Please join me in praying for all those who are affected here in the Mid-Atlantic region, as well as for tens of millions of Americans across the country being affected by scorching temperatures (Kansas hit 118F), floods, droughts, and the fires of Colorado. Consider this: more than 20,900 heat records have been set in the U.S. in 2012 thus far.

Is all this judgment from God? No, I don’t believe so. But I do believe God is using natural disasters, financial troubles, and other means to shake us. He is trying to get our attention, to cause us to turn our eyes to Him as the source of all of our power, hope and security.

The question is: Are Americans listening, and turning their hearts to Christ? Or are we ignoring Him and shutting our ears to His Word?

“If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sins, and will heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14)

Deadly storms leave millions without power in eastern U.S

WASHINGTON | Sat Jun 30, 2012 7:31pm EDT

(Reuters) - Nearly 4 million homes and businesses were without power on Saturday amid a record heat wave in the eastern United States after deadly thunderstorms downed power lines from Indiana to New Jersey. At least 11 people were killed.

People survey storm damage in the Capitol Hill neighborhood in Washington, June 30, 2012. Wind gusts clocked at speeds of up to 79 mph were reported in and around the U.S. capital, knocking out power to hundreds of thousands of homes in the Washington area. REUTERS-Jonathan Ernst

Statewide emergencies were declared in Washington D.C., Ohio, Virginia and West Virginia because of damage from overnight storms, which brought hurricane-force winds along a 500-mile (800-km) stretch.

Forecasters predicted more severe thunderstorms as renewed heat blanketed the area on Saturday.

Temperatures surpassed 100 Fahrenheit (37 Celsius) in several southern cities, including Atlanta, where the mercury hit 106 degrees (41 Celsius), and Charlotte, North Carolina, where it reached 102 F (38 C), according to Accuweather.com. The nation's capital cooled down to 96 Fahrenheit (96 C).

Restoring power in some areas could take up to a week. Utilities in Ohio and Virginia described damage as catastrophic.

"It's going to be a while before some folks get power, and with the heat, that's our big concern," said Bob Spieldenner, a spokesman for the Virginia Department of Emergency Management.

More than 1 million Virginia customers had no power in the worst outage not linked to a hurricane in the state's history, he said.

Six people were killed in Virginia in storm-related incidents.

Utilities or state emergency agencies reported the following outages and damage:

- Maryland: About 869,000 customers without power with outages reported in every county.

- West Virginia: More than 600,000 customers without power.

- Ohio: Power out across two-thirds of state, about 1 million homes and businesses without electricity, and one storm-related death reported. Governor John Kasich said power could take a week to be restored fully.

- New Jersey: Atlantic County declared a state of emergency, and at least 206,000 customers were without power. Two cousins, aged 2 and 7, were killed by a falling tree in state park.

- District of Columbia: 67,000 power customers affected. State of emergency declared.

- Pennsylvania: 32,500 homes and businesses without power.

- Indiana: 135,000 customers with power lost.

- Kentucky: 187 customers without power.

- North Carolina: 618 homes and businesses with power lost.

The storm also knocked out Amtrak passenger rail service between Washington and Philadelphia, Amtrak said.

Power companies called in crews from utilities in neighboring states to help restore electricity.

FEEL THE HEAT

The widespread power outages came as the National Weather Service forecast more heat and severe thunderstorms across the Ohio Valley, through the mid-Atlantic states and into New York.

Blazing temperatures in New York, where thermometer readings were in the 90s on Saturday, came ahead of a possible strike by 8,500 Consolidated Edison workers over a new contract. The union membership has authorized its leaders to call a strike at midnight Saturday, when the collection bargaining agreement expires.

If the 8,500 Con Ed workers do walk off, that would leave managers and any crews the company can hire to fix whatever problems arise as 8.2 million New Yorkers crank up their air conditioners to beat the heat.

Up and down the East Coast, state and local officials urged residents to seek air-conditioned areas, drink lots of water and wear light-colored clothing. They also called for people to watch out for those most vulnerable to high heat - the elderly, small children and the mentally ill.

"Our biggest concern right now is temperatures going up to 100 degrees today," said Ed McDonough, spokesman for the Maryland Department of Emergency Management.

Records for June were broken on Friday in Washington, Atlanta, Nashville, Tennessee and Louisville, Kentucky. The temperature hit at least 104 F (40 C) in all four cities, according to the National Weather Service.

The high temperatures were blamed for the deaths of two brothers, ages 3 and 5, in Bradley County in eastern Tennessee. They had been playing outside in 105-degree heat.

The high heat prompted the AT&T National golf tournament at the Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland, to close the competition to spectators and volunteers on Saturday.

Weather even struck the Internet. The storms disrupted power for Amazon.com Inc cloud computing operations and disrupted online services such as the video streaming website Netflix, photo sharing company Instagram and online pinboard Pinterest, the Wall Street Journal reported.

Unconfirmed: British Forces already in Syria

Boots on the ground?

by The Extinction Protocol
June 26, 2012 – MIDDLE EAST -
Unconfirmed first reports from British, French and Turkish sources say British special operations forces crossed from Turkey into northern Syria Tuesday, May 26, and advanced up to 10 kilometers inside the country. The same sources report heavy fighting around the Presidential Guards compound on the outskirts of Damascus.
Debkafile’s military sources note that this compound exists to defend Bashar Assad’s presidential palace on Mount Qaisoun overlooking Damascus. British and Gulf TV stations are again running interviews with dozens of Syrian soldiers taken prisoner by rebel forces and transferred to Free Syrian Army centers in South Turkey. But this time, they are being aired in conjunction with those two developments, indicating pivotal and coordinated military action inside the embattled country, or even the start of western intervention against the Assad regime. Later Tuesday, Gulf military sources confirmed the presence of British Special Forces in Syria.
Our military sources estimate that the British military drive into Syria, if confirmed, is designed to establish the first safe zone along the Syrian-Turkish border, to be followed by more Western military incursions to establish additional zones of safe asylum in other parts of Syria. This follow-up action would depend substantially on Syrian, Russian and Iranian (+ Hizballah) responses to the initial stage of the operation.
The reported British incursion, if confirmed, occurred at the tail end of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s 24-hour visit to Israel Tuesday morning and would have posed a direct challenge to his repeated warning that Moscow would not tolerate Western military intervention in Syria and actively prevent it. Similar warnings have issued from Tehran. As for the timing, the double military drive against Assad also occurred hours before a NATO “consultation” in Brussels on the shooting down of a Turkish warplane by Syria last Friday, June 22,  which Ankara stated Monday “must not go unpunished.” –Debka
